Jerome J. Sanders is an intrapreneur at Cisco working in the Emerging Technologies and Incubation engineering function driving a startup culture of innovation. With nine years of experience at Cisco, Jerome incubates new businesses inside of a larger multinational corporation in the private sector. More specifically, his team works on breakthrough, emerging, and disruptive technologies such as Application Security, Ethical and Responsible Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Blockchain, Quantum Security, and web3.

Prior to this role, Jerome was a Global Communications Manager in the CEO and Employee Communications team. He was responsible for managing a data-driven digital and innovation content strategy, plan, and execution that reached over 80,000 Cisco employees. Before that, Jerome was in Cisco’s Infrastructure Digital Solutions Marketing team, building Cisco’s product, omnichannel marketing, marketing automation, and go-to-market strategies.

As a first-generation college student in his family, Jerome is a public servant in his community. He has served as Chairperson for the First Tech Fund, a 501c3 non-profit based out of New York, for the past two years, serving over 310 underserved students. First Tech Fund is striving to bridge the ever-widening digital divide by empowering at-risk youth in New York and helping them matriculate into higher education.

Additionally, Jerome is a United Nations Global Compact Young SDG Innovator, working towards connecting the next billion internet users by 2030. When he is not influencing an inclusive innovation culture or interacting with next-generation leaders in STEM fields, Jerome enjoys traveling internationally, training for Ironman competitions as a triathlete, and busting a move to his favorite salsa and bachata music.

Jerome aspires to leave a legacy by using business and technology to reduce the threatening impacts of the digital divide, empower the next generation of innovators, and create a world where no one is left behind.

Jerome was born and raised in San Diego, California, is a Santa Clara University alumnus, and currently resides near the Research Triangle Park in Cary, North Carolina.
