Altium Design Lecture with Milwaukee Tool

Milwaukee Tool will host a talk on general PCB design utilizing Altium, followed by a hands-on session for students to create a layout themselves.  Students are welcome to come to only the lecture portion or only the hands on portion.

The talk will be focused on the following topics with PCB design

  • Brief introduction to schematic capture
  • Schematic to PCB translation
  • Layout best practices for high current capacity designs
  • Layout analysis for high current designs
    • General best practices
    • Altium built in FEA analysis for quick checks
    • Example output from Ansys SIWave for detailed analysis

The hands on session will focus on designing a PCB that is capable of sustaining a continuous 100A load.  Any student who would like to attend this will need to bring a laptop with Altium installed and activated.
