2026-27 Faculty Award Roundup

This ongoing listing of awards and recognitions won by our faculty is added to all year, beginning September 1.

Regina Barzilay, the School of Engineering Distinguished Professor for AI and Health, along with team member James J. Collins, Termeer Professor of Medical Engineering and Science in the Department of Biological Engineering, was awarded the Pritzker Prize for AI in Science Research Excellence by the University of Chicago.

Karl Berggren, Julius A. Stratton Professor in Electrical Engineering and Physics, was named to the 2027 class of Optica Fellows.

Anantha Chandrakasan, Vannevar Bush Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, received the Helen Chin Schlichte Community Builder Award from the Asian Community Fund at the Boston Foundation.

Alex Damian, Assisant Professor, was named a 2026 AI2050 Early Career Fellow by Schmidt Sciences.

Yunha Hwang, Samuel A. Goldblith Career Development Assistant Professor, was named a 2026 AI2050 Early Career Fellow by Schmidt Sciences.

Sendhil Mullainathan, the Peter De Florez Professor, was named a 2026 AI2050 Senior Fellow by Schmidt Sciences.

Jelena Notaros, Associate Professor, was awarded the SRC Young Faculty Award by the Semiconductor Research Corporation.
