Avani Ahuja ‘26 received the 2026 Henry Ford II Scholar Award from the MIT School of Engineering.

Soroush Araei was awarded the 2025 Graduate Student Extraordinary Teaching and Mentoring Award by the MIT School of Engineering.

Evan Boisse was recognized with a Certificate of Appreciation from the United States Coast Guard for his work as part of the MIT Electromechanical Systems Group conducting research with the Surface Forces Logistics Center.

Stephen Brade was awarded a 2026 MAD Design Fellowship.

Dylan Brooks was recognized with a Certificate of Appreciation from the United States Coast Guard for his work as part of the MIT Electromechanical Systems Group conducting research with the Surface Forces Logistics Center.

Ria Das was awarded a Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans.

Jack Carson was awarded first place in the Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics Essay Contest for his entry: “We Know Only Men: Reading Emmanuel Levinas On The Rez”.

Jack Carson was named a 2026 Udall Scholar by the Udall Foundation.

Jonathan Frankle PhD ’23 was awarded the 2023 AAAI/ACM SIGAI Doctoral Dissertation Award for his thesis, entitled “The Lottery Ticket Hypothesis: On Sparse, Trainable Neural Networks.” (AAAI and ACM SIGAI announced the prior three years of winners together on September 15, 2025.)

Alina Harbuzova was elected a 2026 Siebel Scholar.

Kimia Hassibi was elected a 2026 Siebel Scholar.

Jung-Han Sharon Hsia, Tomás Palacios, and Joshua Andrew Perozek PhD ’24 were collectively awarded the 2024 IEEE EDS George E. Smith Award for their paper, “First Demonstration of Optically-Controlled Vertical GaN finFET for Power Applications”.

Clement Jambon was elected a 2026 Siebel Scholar.

Andrew Kerst was recognized with a Certificate of Appreciation from the United States Coast Guard for his work as part of the MIT Electromechanical Systems Group conducting research with the Surface Forces Logistics Center.

Thomas Krause was recognized with a Certificate of Appreciation from the United States Coast Guard for his work as part of the MIT Electromechanical Systems Group conducting research with the Surface Forces Logistics Center.

Aaron Langham was recognized with a Certificate of Appreciation from the United States Coast Guard for his work as part of the MIT Electromechanical Systems Group conducting research with the Surface Forces Logistics Center.

Manuel Martinez was named an inaugural recipient of the Cech Fellowship from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

Kanishka Mitra was elected a 2026 Siebel Scholar.
