EECS undergraduates and graduate students regularly win major scholarships, fellowships, and awards. Following is a sampling of EECS student honors between September 2020 and August 2021.

FELLOWS, SCHOLARS, AND SELECTED PARTICIPANTS

Adobe Research Fellowship: Lucy Chai and Mustafa Doğa Doğan have been awarded the Adobe Research Fellowship. 

Department of Energy Computational Science Graduate Fellowship: Marc Davis has been awarded the DOE CSGF for 2020-21.

Gates Cambridge Scholarship: Amy Jin has been named the 2021 Gates Cambridge Scholar. 

Goldwater Scholars: Spencer Compton, a dual status undergraduate/MEng student, has been named recipient of a 2021 Goldwater Scholarship award. 

AWARDS AND PRIZES

Sayed Afzal Saad has won the Judges Choice Award — Research Originality Award in the Abdul Latif Jameel Water and Food Systems Lab (J-WAFS) World Water Day video competition, held on April 1, 2021, for his video “Moving Towards Ocean IoT“.

Junhyo Yoon has won the Judges Choice Award – Creative Communication Award in the Abdul Latif Jameel Water and Food Systems Lab (J-WAFS) World Water Day video competition, held on April 1, 2021, for his video “Portable Desalination Unit for Hydration“.
