Starting in Fall 2024, our 6-2 Electrical Engineering and Computer Science degree program will be renamed and renumbered as 6-5 Electrical Engineering with Computing. Along with that change, we will retire the existing 6-1 Electrical Science and Engineering degree program, so that we end up with a single EE degree program. You can read our FAQ here.
A flexible combination of subjects, this major includes a focus on the areas in which both EE and CS overlap. Students who entered MIT in Fall 2021 or earlier can choose between the 2017 and 2022 requirements. Students entering in Fall 2022 or later must use the 2022 requirements.
