Bolei Zhou has been selected as one of the 12 recipients of the 2016 Facebook Graduate Fellowship. This highly competitive fellowship is awarded to outstanding PhD students who are engaged in innovative research in relevant fields worldwide. Bolei has been selected as a Facebook Fellow in the field of Computer Vision.
Currently Bolei is a third year PhD student in the EECS department at MIT. His research interest lies with computer vision and machine learning. Currently he is building up artificial intelligent systems which could not only accurately recognize the scene and localize objects inside, but also parse and understand the scene with visual common sense knowledge. The Places Database and Places-CNNs introduced by Bolei and his collaborators have been widely used in computer vision research and development.
