EECS Admission Officer for Recruitment and Fellowships


ADMISSION OFFICER FOR RECRUITMENT AND FELLOWSHIPS, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), to oversee all aspects of the EECS' graduate student admissions process for the doctoral program and facilitate graduate student recruitment, graduate fellowship awards, and the Advanced Study Program.  Will act as the primary contact for and oversee EECS Ph.D. admissions (approximately 3500 applications each year); serve as the primary financial contact for all Ph.D. student fellowship awards (approximately 800 students) and work closely with the EECS graduate officer, graduate administrator, and finance team to provide overall student financial support; serve as EECS' liaison to other MIT offices such as Student Financial Services, Payroll Office, and Graduate Admissions; administer all fellowship awards (both internal and external); identify and publicize existing and potential support mechanisms appropriate for EECS graduate students; maintain students’ final records on paper and in EECS and Institute databases; oversee EECS Ph.D. admissions, working in close collaboration with faculty sub-area chairs, admission committee members, the graduate officer, and other EECS staff; and perform other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred); at least three years’ related experience; familiarity with the undergraduate academic environment, preferably at MIT; ability to work collaboratively with faculty, administrators, and students in a dynamic and fast-paced environment; willingness to work as a member of a team; excellent organizational and written and oral communication skills; meticulous attention to detail; and discretion with confidential materials and situations.
