DESCRIPTION
This subjects counts as an AUS subject
This course studies the main properties of elemental (Si, Ge, diamond, graphene) and compound (GaN, GaAs, SiGe, MoS2) semiconductor materials and their applications to electronic devices. Some of the devices analyzed in this course include MOSFETs, high electron mobility transistors (HEMTs), heterojunction bipolar transistors (HBTs), as well as semiconductor-based chemical sensors. The course will combine the analytical study of these devices with numerical simulations using state-of-the-art commercial software. In addition, it will introduce several experimental techniques related to current semiconductor research and development.
