DEECS 2009 Schedule

Monday, August 24
6:30 pm: Fun and Games at Next House! (500 Memorial Drive). Come meet your fellow program participants on your first (or maybe second) day at MIT.

Tuesday, August 25, 2009
8:30 am: 2 Counselors will be on the Student Center steps to meet you and take you to the Grier Room (leaving at 8:45)
9 am: Breakfast and Program Kickoff (Grier Room, 34-401*)
10 am: Engineering Project then Lunch
Noon – 5 pm: Mystery Hunt! An awesome team puzzle-solving contest, like the MIT Mystery Hunt, but not 3 days long.
6 pm – 9:30 pm: Dinner and a Robot. Learn about some basic strategy, then start on your robot.
9:30 pm – onward: Capture the Flag. Because the MIT campus is best explored when running for your life.

Wednesday, August 26
9 am – 9:30 am: Breakfast
1 pm – 4 pm: Harvard Square Excursion. Grab lunch in Harvard Square and be glad you came to MIT.
4 pm – 9 pm: Robot Project, Lab Tours, Dinner
9 pm – onward: Game Night.

Thursday, August 27
9 am – 9:30 am: Breakfast
9:30 am – 1 pm: Revere Beach trip. Bring your bathing suit! We’re hitting the beach to enjoy the last rays of summer.
3 pm – onward: Robot Project, Lab Tours, Dinner

Friday, August 28
9 am – 9:30 am: Breakfast
9:30 am – 6 pm: Robot Project, Lunch. Today’s a working day, eh?
6 pm – 7 pm: Dinner
7 pm – 10 pm: (optional) Tour of Boston. Our staff will show you around Boston, hitting historic landmarks and cool hangouts. Don’t forget to bring your camera.

Saturday, August 29
10 am – 10:30 am: Breakfast
10:30 am – 3 pm: Museum of Science/Mall trip. Check out the Museum (your MIT ID gets you in free!) and/or grab some stuff for your dorm room.
4:30 pm – onward: Robot Project Demonstrations/Closing Ceremony
6 pm – 7 pm: Last Supper

*With the exception of the Robot Project which will take place in a lab, all events will take place in, and all trips will depart from, the Grier room (34-401).
