During the second semester of this program, students will be expected to refine their project plans, execute any feasibility studies needed and develop a project schedule and budget. Near the end of this semester, a formal proposal will be presented to a board of industry representatives, faculty, and senior graduate students contributing state-of-the-art components. The proposal will provide a functional description of the demonstration system including how the components will be showcased. It will also include implementation planning. Project funding to design and fabricate the proposed demonstation system leading to an MEng thesis will be based on the proposal evaluation by the board. The written portion of the proposal can satisfy the department's advanced undergraduate project (AUP) requirement.
