As chair of the department's Professional Education Policy Committee for
the past four years, Jesús has organized and led thoughtful discussions on
a variety of educational matters, including the design of the common core,
degree requirements, the Master of Engineering timeline, and the philosophy
underlying our various programs. He has kept the discussions on a high

KENT H. LUNDBERG
Kent has been a TA for 10 terms, with experience in 6.301, 6.302 and 6.331. He was a recitation instructor twice during those 10 terms and taught lectures on occasion. He developed lecture demonstrations that are used regularly in 6.301, 6.302, and 6.331. Kent conducts his academic responsibilities with little intervention from the faculty member in charge of the subject. He has tremendous hands-on expertise in the laboratory and his classroom style is interactive. He is a creative and well organized instructor and demonstrates a high degree of competence and skill.
TIMOTHY J. DENISON
Tim has been a TA for 6.301 and twice for 6.012. He has an intense interest in helping students learn as much as they possibly can, and a bright, cheery personality with an infectuous, upbeat attitude. Tim is reliable, resourceful, and has an enthusiastic willingness to put in the extra effort necessary to connect with and relate to all his students and communicate clearly -- all of which results in an extraordinarily effective teaching impact.
JAMES HOCKENBERRY
James has been a TA for 6.002, and a recitation instructor for 6.041 for four terms. James creates a friendly environment for his students and he develops successful illustrative examples during class. He repeatedly and consistently demonstrated dedication and excellence as a TA, and he was superb as the head TA in 6.041/6.431 during the spring term.
EDWARD W. KOHLER
Eddie has been a TA twice: for Professor Gifford in 6.821 and for Professor Kaashoek in 6.033. He taught a lecture when Professor Gifford was out of town and he assisted in producing new materials for the class. When Eddie was a 6.033 TA he helped the undergraduates to improve their writing, helped rewrite lecture notes, and formulated quiz questions and handouts. He was praised by the students in his class for his understanding and effectiveness.
SOOSAN BEHESHTI
Soosan has been a TA for five terms. She was a TA for 6.011, 6.002, and 6.041 twice. She has a superb understanding of applied probability and she communicates with joy, clarity, and unlimited patience. Soosan cares a great deal about making sure her students understand the material and is always willing to volunteer for tasks.
