Frontiers of Communications Seminar
Abstract
This talk will present some of the frontiers of communication and networking in the 21st century. Topics will include space communications, fiber and radio networks, and the critical problem of interconnecting these modalities into a heterogeneous global network. Examples will be drawn from proposed commercial and DoD systems, with emphasis on open problems and problems in need of elegant solutions that can significantly enhance system performance or substantially lower deployment costs.
