Investigates the application of the methods and tools of artificial intelligence to problems in science, engineering, business and entertainment. The focus of the course is on mastery and application of a suite of programs embodying many of the basic representations and problem-solving methods in artificial intelligence, including search, constraint propagation, rule-chaining, planning, deduction, and machine learning. Includes both an individual and a group project on real problems drawn from a variety of disciplines.
