EECS AnnouncementArvind, Guttag and Leiserson recognized by ACMFebruary 23, 2007 The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) has announced special recognition to three members of the EECS faculty and the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL): Arvind, John V. Guttag and Charles E. Leiserson for "their contributions to both the practical and theoretical aspects of computing and information technology." Specifically, Arvind, the Charles W. and Jennifer C. Johnson Professor in Computer Science and Engineering, is cited for his contributions to dataflow computing and verification. Dugald C. Jackson Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, John Guttag is recognized for his contributions to algebraic specifications and abstract data types. Charles Leiserson, professor of electrical engineering and computer science, is cited for his contributions to parallel and distributed computing. ACM will formally bestow these and other honors at its annual awards banquet on June 9, 2007 in San Diego.
