This subject qualifies as an Artificial Intelligence Engineering concentration subject.

This subject explores the use of Intelligent Tutoring Systems to enhance MIT subjects across the EECS Department. An Intelligent Tutoring System technology that can address the requirements of MIT EECS subjects must be flexible and expandable. It must be able to incorporate diverse methods, ranging from numerical analysis to artificial intelligence. Students in this subject will become familiar with notable ITS systems and technologies that have been developed over the past 20 years. They will also design, implement, and test new intelligent tutoring examples for current EECS subjects. There will be programming assignments and projects that require invention of novel techniques that expand the state of the art in system architecture, software engineering, and in tutoring technology.
