Stonebraker awarded 2005 IEEE John von Neumann Medal

Michael Stonebraker, Adjunct Professor, Laboratory for Computer Science has been named recipient of the 2005 IEEE John von Neumann Medal.

Stonebraker is cited by the IEEE Awards Board for "contributions to the design, implementation, and commercialization of relational and object-relational database systems."

The IEEE John von Neumann Medal was established by the Board of Directors in 1990 and is presented annually 'for outstanding achievements in computer-related science and technology.'
