The class will cover important research papers in the area of learning and inference in vision. Each week we will go over different papers, with a student making a presentation to the class about the work. Typical topics of the papers studied will be: Markov random fields, belief propagation, particle filters for tracking, face recognition, Bayesian inference in vision, etc. Students will write computer programs (made available to the other students) illustrating the main ideas as a part of their class presentation about a paper.
